Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in Ealing seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support a young child with additional needs during a crucial stage of their development. Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team, you will help the child access learning, develop communication and social skills, and build confidence within the classroom environment.

Role Summary
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping an EYFS pupil engage in learning, develop key life skills and access the curriculum alongside their peers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Support early learning, play-based activities and classroom routines.
- Help develop communication, social and independence skills.
- Encourage participation and engagement in classroom activities.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Adapt activities and instructions to meet individual needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to implement support strategies.
- Monitor progress and share observations with relevant staff.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar childcare or education role.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within EYFS, nursery or early years settings.
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to encourage engagement, independence and positive behaviour.
- A proactive and flexible attitude.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.
Pay and Progression
£95-£115 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
Rates are determined by relevant SEND experience, previous school-based experience, EYFS knowledge and experience supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis.
The highest rate of £115 per day is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate significant experience supporting children with SEND, a strong understanding of early childhood development, and the ability to implement effective support strategies independently.
