Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Brent on a long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
This position offers valuable hands-on experience supporting young people across Key Stages 3 and 4 while working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff. It is an excellent stepping stone for graduates looking to gain school-based experience before progressing into teacher training or a related profession.

Role Summary
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support students across a range of subjects, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students across KS3 and KS4 with learning and development.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group intervention support.
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Work collaboratively alongside teachers and support teams.
- Encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Support pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and SEMH needs where required.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- A positive, enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
- Experience working with young people through education, tutoring, coaching, youth work or similar settings is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- Experience supporting students with SEND is advantageous but not essential.
- Right to work in the UK.
Pay and Progression
This role offers a daily rate of £110-£120 per day.
The highest rate of £120 per day is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate previous school-based experience, substantial experience supporting young people, strong SEND knowledge, intervention delivery experience, or additional qualifications relevant to education, youth work or child development.
