Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting Primary Supply Teachers to provide temporary day-to-day and short-term cover across a range of primary schools in Barnet. Opportunities are available across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, from Nursery through to Year 6.
Supply teaching offers the flexibility to choose when and where you work while gaining experience across different year groups, school environments and teaching settings.

Role Summary
As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will provide high-quality classroom cover across a variety of primary schools, delivering engaging lessons and maintaining positive learning environments during staff absence.
Assignments may include day-to-day cover, short block bookings and longer-term temporary placements, depending on school requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Maintain established classroom routines and behaviour expectations
- Support pupils to remain engaged and focused throughout the school day
- Adapt quickly to different schools, classrooms and year groups
- Create positive, purposeful and inclusive learning environments
- Complete routine classroom responsibilities where required
- Provide effective handovers to school staff
- Work professionally with a variety of school teams
- Follow all safeguarding and behaviour policies
For day-to-day supply assignments, you will typically deliver existing lesson plans rather than complete long-term planning responsibilities.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Previous primary teaching experience
- Experience within EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to adapt confidently to new school environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Professional, reliable and flexible approach
- Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and commitment to pupil welfare
Pay and Progression
Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale.
Daily rates range from £160 to £259 per day PAYE, depending on teaching experience, qualifications, assignment requirements and the responsibilities undertaken.
Teachers considered for opportunities at the upper end of the pay scale of £259 per day will typically demonstrate substantial primary teaching experience, strong behaviour management, curriculum expertise, experience across multiple key stages and the ability to quickly establish effective classroom practice in unfamiliar settings.
All advertised rates are paid through PAYE with weekly payments.
