Duration: ASAP until July 2027
Pay: £100-£150 per day, dependent on experience, skills and assignment requirements, paid weekly via PAYE

Learning Support Centre Supervisor Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a highly successful secondary school in North London seeking an experienced Learning Support Centre Supervisor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, Instructor, Behaviour Mentor or Teacher looking to work with small groups of students who require additional academic and pastoral support. The role focuses on helping students remain engaged with learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes in a supportive environment.

The Role

As Learning Support Centre Supervisor, you will support students who require additional intervention and guidance to help them succeed both academically and personally.
You will deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities to small groups of students, ensuring they remain engaged and make positive progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-prepared learning activities to small groups of students
  • Support students who require additional behavioural, emotional or academic support
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning
  • Build strong and supportive relationships with students
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff
  • Support the implementation of behaviour and intervention plans
  • Maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and senior leaders
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience and independence

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students
  • Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teacher, Behaviour Mentor or similar role
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to engage and support students who may face barriers to learning
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Commitment to supporting student progress and wellbeing

Desirable Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or teaching experience
  • Experience working within intervention, inclusion or behaviour support settings
  • Experience supporting students with SEND or SEMH needs

Pay and Progression

Pay for this position ranges from £100 to £150 per day, depending on experience, qualifications and assignment requirements.
The highest available rate of £150 per day would typically be offered to candidates with significant classroom experience, previous teaching or cover supervision experience, strong behaviour management expertise and a proven ability to successfully support students with additional learning or behavioural needs.
