Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Harrow. Role Summary

As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them access learning, overcome barriers to education and develop confidence, resilience and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in KS3 and KS4 with learning and personal development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and wider support teams.
  • Promote confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Support students with SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and SEMH needs.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Positive, enthusiastic and approachable attitude.
  • Genuine interest in supporting young people's education and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in education, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, care or youth work is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SEND including autism, ADHD, dyslexia or SEMH is beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Pay and Progression

This role offers a daily rate of £100-£110 per day, paid weekly through PAYE.
The highest rate of £110 per day is typically available to candidates with previous school-based experience, strong SEND knowledge, experience supporting students with additional needs, intervention experience, or relevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, childcare or support work.
