Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in Hammersmith & Fulham. Opportunities are available across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and SEND support, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants and those looking to build their experience within education.

Role Summary

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and development. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create positive learning experiences and help pupils engage confidently with the curriculum.

Opportunities Available

  • 1:1 SEND Support - Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs.
  • General Classroom Support - Assisting teachers and pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Early Years Support - Supporting Nursery and Reception children to develop communication, learning and independence skills.
  • Small Group Interventions - Delivering focused support to reinforce classroom learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
  • Work with pupils individually and in small groups.
  • Provide 1:1 support where required.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Promote positive behaviour and classroom routines.
  • Support children's learning, confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff.
  • Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within a school, nursery, childcare or SEND setting is advantageous.
  • A calm, patient and positive approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
  • Availability to work 3-5 days per week.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Pay and Progression

The daily rate for these opportunities ranges from £95 to £115 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
The highest rate is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate previous school-based experience, SEND support experience, relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications, intervention delivery experience or specialist skills supporting pupils with additional needs.
