Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-established Alternative Provision in Westminster seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships, promote positive behaviour and help students re-engage with education in a supportive environment.

Role Summary
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour and improve engagement with learning. No two days are the same, making this a varied and highly rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions
- Implement restorative approaches to behaviour management
- Support students to overcome barriers to learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams
- Promote engagement, attendance and positive outcomes
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in youth work, mentoring, behaviour support or a similar role
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Calm and resilient approach under pressure
- Ability to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds
- Genuine passion for making a positive difference
- Understanding of SEMH needs is desirable
Pay and Progression
Pay ranges from £95 to £130 per day depending on experience, qualifications and responsibilities within the role.
Candidates with substantial experience supporting students with SEMH needs, behaviour management expertise, youth work qualifications, Team Teach training or previous Alternative Provision experience may be considered for opportunities at the upper end of the pay scale of £130 per day.
