Tradewind Recruitment is looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support within mainstream primary schools across Lambeth.

These temporary opportunities involve supporting children with a range of additional needs, working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and participate successfully in school life.

The roles would suit experienced SEND Teaching Assistants as well as candidates with relevant experience supporting children or young people who are looking to develop their careers within education.

The Role

Depending on the individual assignment, responsibilities may include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs.
• Supporting pupils with needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and emotional regulation needs.
• Supporting pupils' learning, communication, social development and independence.
• Working alongside class teachers and SENCOs to support EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Adapting learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence.
• Monitoring progress and sharing relevant observations with school staff.
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Who Should Apply?

We're looking for candidates with relevant experience supporting children or young people.

You'll need:

• A minimum of 3 months' relevant experience supporting children or young people within an education, care or SEND setting.
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs.
• A patient, empathetic and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work effectively alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Availability Monday to Friday for full-time assignments.
• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant within SEND or inclusion is desirable.

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is also desirable, with the higher advertised pay rate applying to candidates who meet the additional criteria outlined below.

Pay

£93 per day PAYE

For candidates with a minimum of 3 months' relevant experience supporting children or young people within an educational, care or SEND setting.

£105 per day PAYE

For candidates who:

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification; and
• Have more than 3 years' relevant experience supporting pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or SLD, or relevant personal care experience.

All advertised rates are paid via PAYE.
