Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across Hounslow on a flexible daily supply basis.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain further school-based experience while enjoying the flexibility to choose when they work. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, mentoring or other settings involving secondary-aged students.

You'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of secondary schools across Hounslow, offering:

Role Summary

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the absence of the regular teacher. Lesson materials will be provided, and your role will be to ensure students remain on task, engaged in learning and follow the school's behaviour expectations.
You will not be required to plan lessons or undertake active teaching. Instead, you will focus on classroom supervision, behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes using pre-prepared lesson materials.
  • Ensure students remain engaged with set work.
  • Follow school behaviour, safeguarding and classroom procedures.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and professionally.
  • Support a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff where required.
  • Work across a variety of subjects and year groups.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged students.
  • The ability to follow school procedures and lesson instructions.
  • Good organisation and time-management skills.
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work.
A degree and previous school-based experience are desirable but not essential.

Pay and Progression

£100 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
To be considered for opportunities at this rate, candidates should be able to demonstrate experience working with young people through schools, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work or similar environments.
Successful candidates will be confident supervising whole classes, following school procedures, managing classroom behaviour effectively and working independently across different subjects and year groups.
