Role Summary

As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring pupils remain engaged and continue to make progress during staff absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support student learning and engagement throughout lessons
  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff where required
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and expectations

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised in the UK
  • Recent experience teaching within UK secondary schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt to different school settings and year groups
  • Commitment to supporting positive outcomes for all students
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Pay and Progression

Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale.
Daily rates range from £150 to £180 per day, depending on experience, teaching specialism, school requirements and the nature of the assignment.
Teachers with substantial UK secondary teaching experience, strong behaviour management skills, experience teaching examination classes, shortage-subject expertise, or a proven track record across multiple key stages are more likely to secure opportunities at the upper end of the pay range of £180 per day.
