Learning Support Assistant Opportunities

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils within lessons and across the wider school environment
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions where required
- Encourage participation, engagement and positive behaviour
- Support pupils with a range of learning and additional needs
- Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Promote pupil wellbeing, confidence and independence
- Support the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Passion for supporting children and young people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, supportive and encouraging approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Experience within a school, childcare, youth work or mentoring setting
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Relevant education, childcare or support qualifications
Pay and Progression
Pay for these opportunities ranges from £95 to £120 per day, depending on experience, qualifications and assignment requirements.
The highest available rate of £120 per day would typically be offered to candidates with substantial school-based experience, SEND knowledge, intervention experience and a proven ability to support pupils independently across a range of learning needs.
