Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in West London seeking an experienced Primary Teacher to deliver targeted Year 6 interventions from January 2027 until July 2027.
This rewarding opportunity focuses on supporting pupils in the lead-up to KS2 SATs, helping them build confidence, strengthen core skills and achieve their full potential before transitioning to secondary school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 6 teaching team to deliver focused support that complements classroom learning and accelerates pupil progress.

Role Summary

As a Year 6 Intervention Teacher, you will deliver targeted interventions to pupils requiring additional support in English and mathematics, helping them develop confidence and achieve strong outcomes in their end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to Year 6 pupils.
  • Support SATs preparation across English and mathematics.
  • Identify gaps in learning and adapt teaching to meet pupil needs.
  • Reinforce key curriculum concepts, including reading, grammar, arithmetic and reasoning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and evaluate intervention impact.
  • Build pupils' confidence and develop effective learning habits.
  • Work closely with Year 6 teachers to coordinate support and share progress information.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes success.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and KS2 SATs requirements.
  • Experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
  • Confidence delivering targeted interventions in English and mathematics.
  • The ability to identify gaps in learning and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to improving pupil outcomes and confidence.

Pay and Progression

Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale.
This position is paid on the Inner London Teacher Pay Scale M1-M6 (£40,317-£52,463). The salary offered will reflect the successful candidate's current pay scale point, previous teaching experience and any applicable pay portability considerations, in line with the school's pay policy.
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching within a UK primary school setting, ideally with Year 6 and SATs preparation experience.
