Cover Supervisor

Harrow, North West London | Full-Time | Day-to-Day Supply | Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £110-£120 per day | Weekly PAYE
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Harrow on a flexible day-to-day supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced support staff or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable experience within education.

Role Summary

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students remain engaged, focused and productive throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and maintain continuity of learning.
  • Ensure students remain engaged and on task.
  • Create a positive, safe and productive learning environment.
  • Support students in completing assigned work.
  • Monitor attendance and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Provide feedback to teaching and pastoral teams following lessons.
  • Follow safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures at all times.

  • Confidence, reliability and a professional approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with young people.
  • Calm and professional behaviour management skills.
  • Good organisational skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and school expectations.
  • Commitment to supporting positive outcomes for young people.
  • Availability for day-to-day assignments across Harrow.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Pay and Progression

This role offers a daily rate of £110-£120 per day, paid weekly through PAYE.
The highest rate of £120 per day is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate previous school-based experience, successful classroom supervision experience, strong behaviour management skills, experience supporting secondary-aged students, or relevant qualifications in education, youth work, coaching or child development.
