Support Pupils with Additional Needs in Specialist Educational Settings

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for long-term opportunities within specialist educational settings across Ealing, supporting pupils aged 4-19 with Autism, PMLD and complex learning needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their experience within SEND education while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people. You'll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff to help pupils achieve their potential both inside and outside the classroom.

Role Summary

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide individualised support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop communication skills and build confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with personalised learning activities.
  • Assist with communication strategies and social development.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff.
  • Support personal care where required.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
  • Promote pupil wellbeing and emotional development.
  • Help implement individual support plans and learning targets.

Candidate Requirements

  • Psychology Graduates.
  • Health and Social Care Graduates.
To be considered, you should have:
  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within SEND education.
Previous experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential. Full training and ongoing support are provided.

Pay and Progression

£95-£120 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
Rates are determined by relevant experience, qualifications, transferable skills and previous work supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults.
The highest rate of £120 per day is typically available to candidates with substantial experience supporting individuals with Autism, PMLD or complex learning needs within education, care or specialist support settings.
