Role Summary
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide academic, social and emotional support to students across the secondary age range, helping them access learning and participate fully in school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students requiring additional assistance.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in lessons.
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and support services.
- Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
- Adapt support to meet individual student needs.
- Assist with classroom activities and learning resources.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, calm and empathetic approach.
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with students.
- Confidence supporting students with a range of learning and additional needs.
- A proactive and resilient approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
Pay and Progression
£95-£115 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
Rates are determined by relevant experience, previous school-based support experience, knowledge of supporting young people with additional needs and the responsibilities required by the school.
The highest rate of £115 per day is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate substantial experience working with children or young people, experience supporting learning in educational settings and the ability to work independently across a range of student needs.
