Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in West London seeking a committed Primary Teacher to teach a Year 5 class from November 2026 until July 2027.
This long-term opportunity offers the chance to join an established KS2 team and play an important role in preparing pupils for the transition to Year 6. Role Summary
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will take full responsibility for a Year 5 class, delivering engaging lessons that support both academic progress and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
- Teach English, mathematics and foundation subjects.
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress.
- Adapt learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
- Establish clear classroom routines and maintain positive behaviour.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence and preparation for Year 6.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share planning, resources and best practice.
- Maintain effective communication with school staff and parents where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A secure understanding of the National Curriculum.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
Pay and Progression
Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale.
This position is paid on the Outer London Teacher Pay Scale M1-M6 (£39,739-£50,617). The salary offered will reflect the successful candidate's current pay scale point, previous teaching experience and any applicable pay portability considerations, in line with the school's pay policy.
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
