Role Summary

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' educational, social and emotional development while helping them engage fully in learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for these opportunities, you should have:
  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults (desirable).
  • Previous SEN experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, positive and proactive approach.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children and young people.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within SEND education.
These opportunities are suitable for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, support workers and candidates looking to build a career within SEN education.

Pay and Progression

£95-£120 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
Rates are determined by relevant experience, qualifications, previous SEN support experience and the complexity of the role.
The highest rate of £120 per day is typically available to candidates with substantial experience supporting pupils with additional needs, experience within educational or specialist SEND settings, and the ability to work confidently with a range of learning and behavioural needs.
