SEN Teacher Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a highly regarded primary school in West London seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join its specialist Autism Resource Provision (ARP) on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with experience supporting pupils with Autism and additional learning needs. You'll play a key role in delivering personalised learning programmes that help pupils achieve meaningful academic, social and emotional progress within a structured and nurturing specialist provision.

The Role

As the SEN Teacher within the ARP, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that support pupils with Autism and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated learning experiences
  • Support pupils with Autism and communication and interaction needs
  • Develop personalised learning and behaviour strategies
  • Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with SEN Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and external agencies
  • Support pupils' academic, communication, social and emotional development
  • Promote independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent
  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEND
  • Experience supporting or teaching pupils with Autism
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and learning
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience teaching within an ARP, SEN school or specialist provision
  • Knowledge of Autism-specific teaching strategies
  • Experience working with communication and interaction needs

Pay and Progression

Pay for this position ranges from £165 to £285 per day, depending on experience, qualifications and assignment requirements.
As this is a teaching position, pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale and relevant SEND experience.
The highest available rate of £285 per day would typically be offered to teachers with substantial SEND teaching experience, specialist Autism expertise, experience within ARPs or specialist provisions, strong curriculum leadership skills and a proven ability to deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
