Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in Hillingdon seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team from October 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis.
This rewarding role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who enjoys providing practical, emotional and academic support to pupils with additional needs. You'll work alongside teaching staff and support professionals to help pupils access learning, build confidence and participate fully in school life.

Role Summary
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally while ensuring they can access learning successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils individually and in small groups.
- Assist with literacy and numeracy activities.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs.
- Encourage positive communication and social development.
- Help pupils manage emotions and behaviour.
- Support classroom routines and learning activities.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff and families where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience working within a school environment.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Knowledge of supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, nurturing and adaptable approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
Pay and Progression
£95-£115 per day, paid weekly via PAYE.
Rates are determined by previous school-based experience, SEND knowledge, specialist support skills and the responsibilities required within the role.
The highest rate of £115 per day is typically available to candidates with substantial experience supporting pupils with SEND, experience implementing targeted support strategies and the confidence to work effectively with pupils who require a highly individualised approach.
