DT Technician Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Enfield seeking a practical and organised DT Technician to join their team as soon as possible.

The Role
As a DT Technician, you will play an important role in supporting practical teaching and learning across the Design & Technology department.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons
- Maintain workshop resources and storage areas
- Ensure equipment is safe, clean and ready for use
- Support teachers during practical activities where required
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials
- Maintain health and safety procedures within the department
- Carry out basic maintenance of tools and workshop equipment
- Support students in developing practical skills safely
- Assist with displays, projects and departmental organisation
Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience within a workshop, DT, engineering, construction or practical environment
- Good knowledge of tools, materials and workshop equipment
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Practical and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, students and support staff
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to start immediately or at short notice
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working as a DT Technician
- Experience within a school or educational environment
- Relevant technical, engineering or practical qualifications
Pay and Progression
Pay for this position ranges from £100 to £110 per day, depending on experience, responsibilities and assignment requirements.
The highest available rate of £110 per day would typically be offered to candidates with significant workshop or DT technician experience, strong knowledge of machinery and equipment maintenance, excellent health and safety awareness and experience supporting practical learning within an educational setting.
