SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Enfield seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to provide targeted support for students with a range of additional needs.
You will help students develop confidence, independence and engagement while ensuring they can fully access learning opportunities across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with a range of special educational needs
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions
- Help students access learning within mainstream lessons
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Support students' academic, social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEND team
- Implement individual support strategies and learning plans
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting students with SEND
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people
- Patient, resilient and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine commitment to supporting students' wellbeing and achievement
- Ability to start immediately or at short notice
Desirable Requirements
- Experience supporting a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD and SEMH
- Previous experience within a secondary school environment
- Relevant education, childcare or SEND qualifications
Pay and Progression
Pay for this position ranges from £95 to £110 per day, depending on experience, responsibilities and assignment requirements.
The highest available rate of £110 per day would typically be offered to candidates with significant SEND experience, strong behaviour management skills, experience supporting students with complex additional needs and a proven ability to work effectively within a secondary school environment.
