Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in Redbridge seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Cognition & Learning and Communication & Interaction needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with students, teaching staff and the SEND department to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and make educational progress.
The Role
The successful applicant will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
- Support pupils with Cognition & Learning and Communication & Interaction needs.
- Assist with the delivery of targeted interventions.
- Work closely alongside teachers and SEND staff to implement agreed support strategies.
- Support pupils in accessing lessons and overcoming barriers to learning.
- Promote engagement, independence and positive participation in school life.
- Monitor progress and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar support role.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Knowledge of, or training in, interventions relating to Cognition & Learning and/or Communication & Interaction needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, supportive and professional approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Experience within a secondary school environment may be beneficial but is not essential.
