HR Assistant Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-established secondary school in East London seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to join their busy HR team on a full-time, long-term temporary basis.

The Role
As HR Assistant, you will provide effective administrative support across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring HR processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and confidentially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
- Support recruitment, onboarding and induction processes
- Prepare contracts, offer letters and employment documentation
- Coordinate pre-employment checks, including DBS and right-to-work checks
- Maintain safeguarding and safer recruitment records
- Support absence, sickness and leave administration
- Assist with payroll-related administration
- Respond to HR queries from staff professionally and efficiently
- Organise staff training administration and records
- Support employee relations processes where required
- Produce reports and maintain HR databases and spreadsheets
- Ensure confidential handling of employee information
- Support wider school administration when required
Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes
- Experience handling confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Professional and approachable manner
- Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience within a school or education setting
- Experience using HR management systems
- Knowledge of safer recruitment and safeguarding procedures
Pay and Progression
Pay for this position ranges from £100 to £120 per day, depending on experience, responsibilities and assignment requirements.
The highest available rate of £120 per day would typically be offered to candidates with substantial HR administration experience, experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes, strong knowledge of safeguarding and compliance requirements, experience using HR systems and the ability to work independently within a busy HR function.
