SEN Teaching Assistant (KS2)

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a large and inclusive primary school in Hammersmith seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join its specialist support team on a full-time, long-term basis for the remainder of the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress within a nurturing school environment.

Role Summary
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils across KS2, supporting their learning, behaviour and emotional development. You will deliver interventions, implement targeted support strategies and work alongside teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to help pupils achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Deliver individual and small-group interventions
- Adapt activities and support strategies to meet individual learning needs
- Support pupils with learning, communication and behavioural needs
- Promote confidence, engagement and independence
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement support plans
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
- Liaise with external professionals where appropriate
- Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
- Experience working within a primary school or educational environment
- Confidence supporting pupils within Key Stage 2
- Knowledge of a range of communication, learning and behavioural needs
- Experience delivering interventions and personalised support strategies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient and child-centred approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing
Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs would be advantageous.
Pay and Progression
This role offers £93-£100 per day PAYE, depending on experience, qualifications and assignment requirements.
Candidates with experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, delivering interventions and working within primary school settings may be considered from £93 per day PAYE.
Candidates holding a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and significant experience supporting pupils with SEND, including complex learning, behavioural or communication needs, are more likely to be considered for the top rate of £100 per day PAYE.
