Job Description

Secondary schools in Islington are seeking Teaching Assistants to support students who need extra help staying engaged, organised, and confident in lessons.

This role is well suited to graduates or experienced support staff who enjoy academic support as well as pastoral work. You'll be working with students who benefit from clear guidance, encouragement, and someone taking the time to explain things properly.

The Role:

  • Supporting students in class and in targeted intervention sessions
  • Working with pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Helping students stay organised and focused during lessons
  • Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom routines
  • Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day

About You:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students or young people
  • Confident, patient, and approachable
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • A genuine interest in education and student progress
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
