Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an Unqualified Geography Teacher to join their Humanities department from January 2026. This role would suit candidates with prior school-based experience as well as those at an earlier stage in their career, with strong support from an experienced and welcoming department.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Delivering engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, using established schemes of work and department resources

  • Supporting students' understanding of physical and human geography, map skills, and fieldwork concepts

  • Leading small-group sessions and providing one-to-one support where required

  • Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Contributing to Geography enrichment opportunities, such as eco projects, current affairs discussions, or fieldwork preparation

This Role Would Suit:

  • Graduates in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or a related subject

  • Cover supervisors, instructors, tutors, or teaching assistants ready to take on more responsibility

  • Individuals with strong subject knowledge and confident communication skills

  • Those considering teacher training routes such as PGCE, School Direct, or SCITT, or experienced educators seeking a long-term role

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students is advantageous, but not essential
