Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an Unqualified Geography Teacher to join their Humanities department from January 2026. This role would suit candidates with prior school-based experience as well as those at an earlier stage in their career, with strong support from an experienced and welcoming department.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, using established schemes of work and department resources
Supporting students' understanding of physical and human geography, map skills, and fieldwork concepts
Leading small-group sessions and providing one-to-one support where required
Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Contributing to Geography enrichment opportunities, such as eco projects, current affairs discussions, or fieldwork preparation
This Role Would Suit:
Graduates in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or a related subject
Cover supervisors, instructors, tutors, or teaching assistants ready to take on more responsibility
Individuals with strong subject knowledge and confident communication skills
Those considering teacher training routes such as PGCE, School Direct, or SCITT, or experienced educators seeking a long-term role
Experience working with secondary-aged students is advantageous, but not essential
