Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Working under the direction of classroom teachers to support learners aged 11 to 16
- Providing targeted academic support to students at risk of falling behind
- Assisting pupils with additional learning needs and adapting materials to suit their needs
- Supporting pupil progress in core subjects such as English, Maths and Science
- Monitoring and recording student engagement and feeding into school-wide support strategies
- Helping maintain a calm, productive and respectful learning environment
- Collaborating with colleagues across the SEN and pastoral teams
Candidate Specification
- A graduate from any subject area with a genuine interest in education and working with young people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional resilience, patience and empathy
- Strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality and child protection
- Experience working with young people in any setting (voluntary or paid) would be beneficial but not essential
