💷 Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

SANZA Teaching Agency, a Sunday Times Top 100 Company to Work For, is proud to be supporting a fantastic and inclusive primary school in Brent, which is seeking a dedicated and skilled Premises Manager / Lead Caretaker to oversee all aspects of site management and maintenance across the school grounds.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in facilities or site management to take on a lead role in ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient learning environment for pupils and staff alike.


About the Role:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the school site, including buildings, grounds, and facilities.

  • Carry out regular health & safety checks, fire alarm testing, and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.

  • Manage and coordinate contractors, cleaning teams, and external service providers.

  • Lead on site security, including opening and closing the premises, monitoring access, and responding to emergencies.

  • Oversee maintenance budgets and carry out basic repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.

  • Work closely with senior leadership and school business managers to ensure the site is safe, welcoming, and well maintained.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or site management role (ideally in a school or similar environment).

  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations, COSHH, and premises compliance.

  • Practical DIY and maintenance skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs independently.

  • Good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to lead and manage others.

  • A proactive, can-do attitude and the flexibility to support school events and occasional out-of-hours requirements.

  • A valid enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one through SANZA.
