Tradewind Recruitment is seeking qualified Primary Supply Teachers to work across a variety of mainstream primary schools throughout Croydon. You'll have the opportunity to work across a range of welcoming and diverse primary schools throughout Croydon. Each setting offers a unique environment, allowing you to gain valuable experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 while building your confidence and developing your professional network.

Role Summary

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will provide high-quality classroom cover for planned and unplanned teacher absences. Assignments may include daily supply, short-term bookings, block bookings and longer temporary opportunities depending on your preferences and availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons provided by the class teacher
  • Teach across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 according to your experience and school requirements
  • Maintain classroom routines and behaviour expectations
  • Support pupils to remain engaged and focused throughout lessons
  • Adapt quickly to different schools, year groups and classroom environments
  • Complete routine classroom responsibilities including registers and assemblies where required
  • Provide handover information to school staff at the end of the day
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within UK primary schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach
  • The ability to adapt to different school environments
  • Willingness to work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required
  • The ability to travel to schools across Croydon and arrive by approximately 8:15am-8:30am
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing

Pay and Progression

This role offers £160-£165 per day PAYE, dependent on experience and individual assignment requirements.
Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale. Teachers with substantial UK classroom experience, strong behaviour management skills, a proven ability to teach across multiple primary phases and experience adapting quickly to new school environments are more likely to secure opportunities towards the upper end of the pay range.
