Tradewind Recruitment, acting as an employment business, is recruiting a confident, motivated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a long-term temporary assignment at a primary school in Greenwich.

The role

As an HLTA, you will play an important part in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging activities, provide targeted interventions and help create a positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading learning activities across the school, including whole-class cover when required.
• Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment.
• Delivering targeted interventions to help pupils progress.
• Working with children of varying abilities, including those with SEN.
• Contributing to a positive learning environment.
• Supporting the wider school team and maintaining high standards of pupil care.

What we are looking for

• HLTA status or demonstrable recent experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, including leading learning activities or providing whole-class cover.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence leading groups and delivering learning activities.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A reliable and positive approach to education.

What we offer

• £105-£130 per day, paid through PAYE. The exact rate within this range will be confirmed before the assignment is accepted and will depend on relevant HLTA experience, qualifications and the responsibilities agreed with the school.

The important details

• Pay: £105-£130 per day, paid through PAYE; the exact rate will be confirmed before acceptance based on relevant experience, qualifications and assignment responsibilities.
• Contract: Long-term temporary assignment; the anticipated duration will be confirmed before acceptance.
• Hours: Full time, term time only; the normal working days and daily start and finish times will be confirmed before acceptance.
• Start date: Expected September 2026, subject to completion of the required pre-employment checks and agreement with the school.
• Location: Greenwich.

An enhanced child workforce DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new enhanced DBS check, will be required.
