Role Summary
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support children's learning, development and wellbeing. You'll help create an engaging environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children through play-based learning and structured activities
- Help pupils develop early literacy, phonics, numeracy and communication skills
- Promote personal, social and emotional development
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships
- Assist with classroom routines, resources and learning activities
- Support children with a range of learning needs and abilities
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maximise pupil progress
Candidate Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Previous experience working with children in an Early Years or primary school setting
- Understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Nurturing, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Pay and Progression
The role pays £95-£105 per day through PAYE.
The exact rate offered will be determined by your experience, qualifications and responsibilities within the role.
Candidates with extensive EYFS experience, a recognised Level 3 qualification, strong phonics knowledge, experience supporting pupils with additional needs, and the ability to confidently contribute to planning and interventions are more likely to be considered for opportunities at the upper end of the pay scale of £105 per day.
