We are working in partnership with an inclusive and supportive secondary school in Wellingborough who are seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in helping students overcome challenges, access learning and build confidence in the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support, helping pupils reach their academic, social and personal goals.
The role would suit someone with experience in education, SEND, youth work, mentoring or care, as well as those looking to take their first step into a career supporting children and young people. Full training and ongoing development opportunities are available for the right candidate.
The Role
Supporting students in lessons through one-to-one and small group interventions
Providing additional classroom support for pupils with a range of learning needs
Helping students with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
Working alongside teachers to create an engaging and accessible learning environment
Supporting pupils with confidence, independence and participation in school life
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop emotional resilience
Building positive relationships with students and supporting their wellbeing throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate
Is passionate about helping young people succeed and reach their potential
Has a patient, understanding and supportive approach
Can build positive relationships with students from a variety of backgrounds
Is confident working as part of a team alongside teachers and support staff
Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to making a difference
Has previous experience working with children, young people, SEND or care settings (desirable but not essential)
Is keen to develop professionally within a school environment
