We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Wellingborough who are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to gain valuable hands-on classroom experience within a structured and encouraging school setting.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the school during teacher absences by supervising lessons and ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and completing the work provided by the class teacher.

You do not need to be a qualified teacher for this role. Lesson plans and resources will already be prepared, allowing you to focus on supporting students and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of subjects

  • Ensure students complete the work set by the teacher

  • Maintain a positive, calm, and productive classroom environment

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Encourage students to remain focused and engaged with their learning

  • Report any concerns or issues to relevant members of staff

  • Support wider school duties, including break and corridor supervision

  • Act as a positive role model for students at all times

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people (education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, care, or similar backgrounds welcomed)

  • A confident and professional classroom presence

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development

  • Someone considering a future career in teaching or education
