Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a welcoming SEMH school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who present challenging behaviour and SEMH needs, offering consistent support throughout the school day. You will play a key role in helping students regulate their emotions, develop positive behaviour strategies and fully engage with their education.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies
Implementing individual behaviour support plans
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals
Acting as a positive role model at all times
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour (education, care, youth work or similar)
Is calm, patient and resilient
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
Is passionate about making a positive difference
Works well as part of a team
Experience in education, youth work, mental health, psychology, social care or sports coaching is highly desirable, but not essential.
