Temporary Food Technician - Secondary School

Location: Southwark, London
Contract: Temporary, duration TBC
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week
Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Pay: £15.00 - £18.00 per hour

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a Food Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Southwark on a temporary basis.

The Role

As a Food Technician, you will support the delivery of practical food and nutrition lessons, helping to ensure that classrooms, equipment and resources are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Preparing ingredients, equipment and resources for practical food lessons
• Supporting teachers and students during practical activities
• Maintaining clean, safe and organised food technology areas
• Ensuring equipment and ingredients are stored appropriately
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
• Supporting safe working practices in line with school procedures
• Assisting with the general day-to-day running of the Food Technology department

About You

The school would ideally like to appoint someone who has:

• Previous experience in a food, catering, food technology or similar practical environment
• A degree or relevant qualification is preferred but not essential
• An understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and safe working practices
• Good organisational and communication skills
• The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and support staff
• A reliable, proactive and professional approach
• The ability to work positively with secondary-aged students
