We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Milton Keynes who are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment while making a real difference to students' learning, confidence, and progress. The role would suit someone passionate about education, youth development, or those considering a future pathway into teaching.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support the school by supervising classes during teacher absences. Lesson work will already be prepared, and your role will be to ensure students remain focused, engaged, and working effectively while maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subjects

  • Ensure students complete the work set by the teacher

  • Maintain a positive, calm, and structured classroom environment

  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies and expectations

  • Encourage students to remain motivated and engaged with their learning

  • Report any concerns or issues to relevant members of staff

  • Support wider school duties, including break and corridor supervision

  • Act as a positive role model and provide encouragement to students

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar backgrounds)

  • Confident, calm, and professional classroom presence

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable approach to working in a school environment

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
