Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in specialist provisions and schools across Corby. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional emotional and behavioural needs
  • Support students both academically and pastorally throughout the school day
  • Help manage behaviour positively and support emotional regulation strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and wider school staff to implement tailored support plans
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and progress
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from candidates who have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour
  • A patient, resilient and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour support skills
  • A background in education, care, youth work or mental health support (desirable)
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
