Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in specialist and alternative provision settings across Corby.

The Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs both in and out of the classroom
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and engaged
  • Assist the class teacher with delivering tailored learning activities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students regulate emotions and develop coping strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour and support de-escalation where required
  • Help create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, SEND, or in pastoral/youth support roles
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Relevant qualifications (TA, childcare, youth work, psychology graduates welcomed)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
