Year 4 Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and welcoming primary school in Leigh.

This is a full-time, long-term role starting as soon as possible, continuing until July 2026. You will be providing essential support to a Year 4 class, covering a long-term sickness.

As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, your primary focus will be supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and ensuring all pupils reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

Academic Support: Working with small groups or on a 1-to-1 basis to support literacy, numeracy, and core subjects.

Classroom Management: Assisting with the preparation of resources and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Pupil Wellbeing: Providing emotional and social support to students, helping them build confidence and resilience.

Progress Tracking: Observing and reporting on pupil progress to the class teacher and SENCO where necessary.

Located in the heart of Leigh, this primary school is known for its "community feel" and supportive leadership team. They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become an integral part of their Year 4 team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school setting (Key Stage 2 experience is highly desirable).

Qualifications: A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or a degree with a keen interest in education.

Compliance: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one) and full employment references.
