Site Assistant - School - Brent - Immediate / January 2026 Start - Full-Time

Tradewind Recruitment are working with welcoming and well-managed schools in Brent who are seeking a Site Assistant to join their premises team on a full-time, long-term basis, with an immediate or January 2026 start.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good maintenance skills who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting the day-to-day running of a school.

Site Assistant - Role Overview

As a Site Assistant, you will support the Site Manager in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and well maintained. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the opening and closing of the school site.

  • Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks.

  • Setting up rooms for lessons, meetings, and school events.

  • Ensuring health & safety standards are met across the site.

  • Conducting routine checks of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

  • Supporting cleaning teams and ensuring high standards of cleanliness.

  • Monitoring site security and responding to issues as they arise.

  • Assisting with deliveries, stock movement, and waste management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or site work (school-based experience desirable but not essential).

  • Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.

  • Awareness of health & safety procedures.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
