The Role

We are recruiting a degree-qualified Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school in Ealing. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for a graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting pupils aged 11-16 (or 11-18) in a secondary school setting.

You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students academically, socially, and behaviourally, both in class and through targeted interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in KS3 and KS4 classrooms
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across core subjects
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or behavioural needs
  • Helping students stay focused, engaged, and on task
  • Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Preparing learning materials and resources
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Supervising students during transitions, break, or lunch when required

Essential Requirements

  • Degree educated (mandatory)
  • A strong interest in secondary education
  • Confident, calm, and professional manner
  • Ability to manage behaviour and build rapport with teenagers
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Previous experience in a secondary school, youth work, tutoring, or mentoring is advantageous but not essential.
