SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 2 (Down Syndrome)

⏰ Full-time: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Tradewind Education is currently recruiting a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 with Down syndrome at a welcoming primary school in Islington.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs

  • Support learning in line with the child's EHCP

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions

  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour

  • Support with personal care where required (training provided)

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (Down syndrome experience desirable)

  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
