  • Behaviour Management: Proactively manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a calm and focused environment when the class teacher is absent or focused on instruction.

  • Cover Management: Supervise classes during periods of teacher absence (non-teaching cover), overseeing set work and ensuring students remain on task.

  • Engagement & Motivation: Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance, punctuality, and overall engagement in school life.

  • Liaison: Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Year, SENCOs, and parents to address individual student needs and concerns.

  • Intervention: Run small group sessions or 1:1 support focusing on social skills, resilience, and conflict resolution.

We Are Looking For

  • Essential Experience: Proven experience working with young people (aged 11-16) in a youth work, school support, or similar pastoral role.

  • Behaviour Management Skills: Confident and effective in implementing positive behaviour strategies and managing challenging behaviour.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to build rapport quickly with teenagers, staff, and parents.

  • Youth Work Qualification: A qualification in Youth Work, Education, or relevant field is highly desirable.

  • Resilience: The ability to remain calm, authoritative, and supportive under pressure.

  • Commitment: A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Why Join This Blackpool School?
