Reception SEND Teaching Assistant - Harrow

Tradewind Recruitment is supporting a two-form entry primary school in Harrow to recruit a Reception SEND Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child on the Autism spectrum. This is a full-time position starting immediately. Following an initial temporary period, there may be the opportunity for a permanent contract directly with the school.

The school is looking for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support an autistic child in Reception. You will work closely with the pupil both in and outside the classroom, under the guidance of the class teacher. This pupil requires support with the curriculum but does not display challenging behaviour.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience supporting pupils who need developmental or academic support, particularly in reading, writing, or maths. You should have strong literacy skills, the ability to engage young children, differentiate tasks to their learning level, and a clear understanding of phonics.

Role Details:

Hours: 8:15 - 4:00
Full-time, with potential to move to a permanent contract after the temporary period

Requirements:

Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs in a primary school setting
Subject to Enhanced DBS check, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional references
CV covering employment and education history (with explanations for any gaps)
Legal right to work in the UK
