Learning Support Assistant - Therapeutic SEN School (Full-Time, Long-Term)
Location: Kettering Area
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Contract: Long-term, with potential for permanent placement

Are you a patient, empathetic, and resilient individual looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently supporting a specialist therapeutic school in the Kettering area, seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their caring and committed team.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll provide vital classroom and emotional support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to help students build confidence, develop self-regulation skills, and engage positively with learning.
The school offers a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that prioritises emotional wellbeing and personal growth as much as academic progress.
Responsibilities:
Support students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom.
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and resilience.
Assist teachers with differentiated learning and behaviour strategies.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH or additional needs.
A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Tradewind.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, Youth Work, Psychology, Counselling, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
Why Work with Tradewind Recruitment?
Competitive pay, paid weekly.
Access to accredited CPD and specialist SEN training.
Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles in supportive schools.
If you're passionate about helping young people thrive emotionally and academically in a therapeutic environment, we'd love to hear from you!
