Location: Chinley, High Peak, Derbyshire
Start Date: ASAP
Responsible to: Headteacher / Phase Lead / SENCO

Tradewind are working with a special school for pupils aged 2-19 years with a broad range of learning difficulties, communication needs, and behavioural challenges. They serve a large catchment area including Derbyshire, Tameside and Cheshire. As part of a Multi-Academy Trust, they work collaboratively with other special schools to ensure the very best provision.

We are looking for

Enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Teachers who:

  • Are fully qualified (QTS or equivalent) with experience in special education / SEN settings (or a strong interest and aptitude to work in this area)

  • Can plan and deliver differentiated, creative, engaging lessons to meet the varied needs of pupils at different developmental levels

  • Have excellent behaviour management skills and are able to work with children who may have challenging behaviour or very high support needs

  • Are committed to working as part of a multidisciplinary team (therapists, support staff, families) to deliver holistic education and care

  • Have strong communication skills (with pupils, families, external agencies)

  • Are resilient, reflective, and able to adapt to changing needs and contexts

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for pupils as per their Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCP) or equivalent, adapting content, pace and style as needed

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that supports all aspects of pupil well-being (social, emotional, physical)

  • Monitor, assess, record and report on pupil progress; contribute to individual planning (IEPs, learning targets, etc.)

  • Participate in planning across phases / key stages and collaborate on school-wide curriculum development

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure coordinated support and consistency

  • Maintain all safeguarding, health & safety, and inclusion policies and practices
