Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision (Preston)
Location: Preston
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term with a view to permanent
Full-time

Pay: £90 - £120 per day (PAYE)

An inclusive and supportive Alternative Provision in Preston is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a long-term role with the potential to move to a permanent contract, offering the right candidate a chance to make a meaningful impact in a specialist setting.

About the Role:

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised interventions
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and a positive approach to learning
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support, both in and outside of the classroom
  • Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and respectful learning environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a school, PRU, or youth setting (preferred but not essential)
  • Calm, patient, and consistent in behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and support students with diverse needs
  • A genuine desire to support vulnerable learners
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible approach

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  • DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one
