Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Islington
Start date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time (term-time only), long-term
Location: Islington
Pay: £110-£125 per day

Do you have experience supporting young people with behavioural or emotional needs?
A diverse and inclusive secondary school in Islington is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the role:

Working 1:1 or in small groups with students at risk of exclusion or disengagement
Supporting emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and positive behaviour strategies
Liaising with the pastoral team, SENCO, and external services
Leading lunchtime and afterschool support activities
Monitoring and reporting on behaviour, attendance and academic progress

About you:

Background in youth work, mentoring, or alternative education
Calm, non-judgemental, and emotionally intelligent
Skilled at building relationships and trust with challenging learners
A firm but fair approach to managing behaviour
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
