Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Islington
Start date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time (term-time only), long-term
Location: Islington
Pay: £110-£125 per day

Do you have experience supporting young people with behavioural or emotional needs?
A diverse and inclusive secondary school in Islington is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the role:

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with students at risk of exclusion or disengagement
  • Supporting emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and positive behaviour strategies
  • Liaising with the pastoral team, SENCO, and external services
  • Leading lunchtime and afterschool support activities
  • Monitoring and reporting on behaviour, attendance and academic progress

About you:

  • Background in youth work, mentoring, or alternative education
  • Calm, non-judgemental, and emotionally intelligent
  • Skilled at building relationships and trust with challenging learners
  • A firm but fair approach to managing behaviour
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
