SEN Teachers - Exceptional Opportunities Across North London SEMH Schools

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teachers to work across a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Schools and SEMH Units throughout North London from September 2025.

We are collaborating with multiple specialist SEMH settings including therapeutic schools, behaviour support units, and alternative provision centres, all seeking committed educators to join their supportive teams.

About the Opportunities: You will have the opportunity to teach students with SEMH needs across various specialist environments, supporting young people with emotional regulation difficulties, anxiety and trauma, ADHD, attachment disorders, and complex behavioural presentations. Your responsibilities will typically include:

  • Planning and delivering therapeutic, curriculum-based lessons that address both academic and emotional learning needs
  • Implementing trauma-informed teaching approaches and positive behaviour support strategies
  • Working closely with pastoral teams, therapists, and mental health professionals to support holistic student development
  • Contributing to behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and therapeutic intervention programmes
  • Creating safe, nurturing classroom environments that promote emotional regulation and academic progress

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in SEMH settings or working with students with complex behavioural needs
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic approaches to education
  • Excellent de-escalation skills and experience managing challenging behaviours in educational settings
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable young people and work within multidisciplinary teams
  • Additional qualifications in areas such as mental health, behaviour management, attachment theory, or therapeutic interventions would be highly valued
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete the application process
