Job Description

SEN Teacher - ASAP

A SEN school in Chorley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to support children with complex learning needs in a nurturing and forward-thinking environment.

The school in Chorley welcomes applications from mainstream teachers (primary or secondary) looking for a new challenge, as well as those with existing experience in special education. A formal SEN qualification is not required, but a strong commitment to supporting children with additional needs is essential.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work with children aged 2 - 19, focusing on communication, independence, self-care, and social development, alongside core subjects such as English and Maths. Rather than prioritising formal assessments, the school aims to equip pupils with essential life skills to help them thrive beyond the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A genuine passion for SEND and the drive to make a meaningful difference in children's lives.
  • Experience in primary or secondary education, with the ability to adapt teaching for a range of needs.
  • A creative approach to learning, using interactive and practical strategies to engage pupils.
  • Strong teamwork skills, working closely with LSAs, therapists, and school staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Early Career Teachers with an interest in special education are also encouraged to apply, with a structured support programme available.

What We're Looking For:

  • A creative teacher with expert knowledge of differentiation for children with SEND.
  • Someone who enjoys interactive, real-life teaching strategies suited to younger learners.
  • A team player, who will work collaboratively with LSAs, MTAs, HLTAs, and the wider school team.
  • A teacher with or without specific SEN qualifications-we welcome all passionate educators!
  • Early Career Teachers with a passion for SEND are encouraged to apply, and we offer a strong support programme to help you succeed.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), an alternative equivalent qualification, or training in Special Education Needs

If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs in Chorley, For further details or to arrange a visit, please contact Issy on 01772 977 333 or isabel.keen@twrecruitment.com
